Tim Osborne
Faith Journey
Tim made a commitment to follow Christ at age six. His family was very involved in their church and had a profound effect on his calling to ministry. His paternal Grandpa was a pastor for almost forty years and his maternal Grandma predicted that Tim would someday be a pastor.
While a teenager, his church hired a youth pastor who inspired Tim to go into youth ministries. Tim began working with teenagers as a freshman in college and has continued to work with kids as both a volunteer and professional for over 17 years.
Ministry Journey
In 1996 Tim graduated from Gordon College with a degree in Youth Ministries and Biblical Studies. At Gordon he gained a love for scripture, Ancient Near Eastern history, Hebrew and Greek and contemplated pursuing a career in Old Testament Studies.
However, a year spent working with children and youth in a Residential Treatment Center reaffirmed Tim’s passion for youth ministry and ignited a desire to serve students and families through the local church.
He then began Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary while working as a job coach with developmentally delayed adults. During seminary Tim developed a more reformed theology and began attending a PCUSA church for the first time. It was an amazing little congregation that fostered his pastoral growth and planted seeds that would later grow into ordination in the PCUSA.
After seminary he served as youth pastor at Cedar Hill Christian Reformed Church in Wyckoff, NJ. For the past eight years Tim has been Director of Youth Ministries at Grace Presbyterian Church in Montclair, NJ. Besides working with the three youth groups, he participated in pastoral care, preaching, teaching, writing for the church newsletter and community service.
