First Presbyterian Church, Mount Holly

With this goal in mind the Iron Men’s Ministry of First Pres seeks to provide a “church experience” in which men can feel that being a man and being a Christian are not mutually exclusive things. Through a combination of activities and discussions the Iron Men support one another in facing the challenges today’s men face. Some of they ways we do that are:

Being God’s Man …

Each week, during the Sunday school hour, we join together to look into a variety of issues around the theme of “Being God’s Man …” Currently we are discussing what it means to be God’s man in difficult times.

Cycling Team

Every Saturday morning throughout the year—weather permitting—a group of guys from FPC, together with any other men interested in riding with a group, gather in the church parking to cycle one of a hand-full of challenging routes. In addition to their weekly rides, the group participates each September in the MS 150, riding to and from the shore to support Multiple Sclerosis research. For addition information, contact Jeff Paul, Cycling Ministry Coordinator.

Iron Men’s Lenten Breakfast

Each Spring we plan a large breakfast event prior to Easter. 2008’s breakfast was a huge success. In combination with FBC of Mt. Holly we had approximately 300 men gather for breakfast to hear former Eagle’s middle linebacker Jeremiah Trotter share his powerful testimony.

Iron Men’s Ministry

As iron sharpens iron, so one man sharpens another.—Proverbs 27:17

Our vision is to reach out to men in our church and community through bridge-building events and to develop deeper relationships through opportunities for fellowship and spiritual growth.
